Find and Replace in Notes
The note editor includes an inline Find and Replace bar for locating and changing text within the note body without leaving the page.
To open Find and Replace:
- Click into the Note field on a project note.
- Press Ctrl+F, or click the Find / Replace label above the note editor.
The bar appears directly above the note, with a Find row and a Replace row. Closing it (its X button, or pressing Ctrl+F again) hides it without discarding your note edits.
Finding Text
To find text:
- Type the text you're looking for into the Find field. If you already had text selected in the note, it is filled in automatically.
- Click Next (or press Enter) to jump to the next match, or Previous (or Shift+Enter) to jump to the one before.
- Toggle the Aa button to make the search case-sensitive; by default matching ignores case.
The search wraps around: pressing Next from the last match jumps back to the first, and Previous from the first jumps to the last. If no match exists, the bar shows Not found. Each match found is selected and scrolled into view in the note.
Replacing Text
To replace text:
- Enter the text to search for in the Find field.
- Enter its replacement in the Replace with field.
- Click Replace to change the currently selected match and advance to the next one, or click Replace All to change every occurrence in the note at once.
After Replace All, the bar reports how many replacements were made. Replaced text inherits the formatting already present at that point in the note, so bold, italic, and other formatting are preserved around the change.
